Upcoming Events to Add to Your Calendar

Food & Hygiene Collection Continues
Thanks to all who have contributed to Central’s 2014 Adopt-a-Family Food and Hygiene Drive, which continues through December 5. Canned food and dry goods of any kind are appreciated, as well as personal and home care items such as shampoo, toothpaste, kleenex, dish soap, and cleaning supplies. Students can take items to their classroom or drop them off in the front lobby at the Adopt-a-Family bulletin board area and boxes. So far the donations have been great! We especially need
cleaning supplies. Thank you for your support and generosity! Remember, we are still collecting for our family in need. If you have any questions, please ask and I will give you more info on our family!

Holiday Hat Day: Dec. 3
Holiday Hat Day is next Wednesday, December 3. Donate $1.00 to wear your favorite winter hat all day. Donations benefit our Adopt-a-Family food and hygiene drive.

Holidays & Customs Night: Dec. 5
Central's annual Holidays and Customs Night will be held Friday, December 5, 6:30
8:00 PM. Families arrive at the gym, then go to “customs” and get their “passports.” They visit tables around the perimeter of the gym, representing countries of origin of Central students, grouped by continent. At each table they get their “passport” stamped. There may be people in native dress. In the center of the gym, there will be crafts and activities for students to complete and take home. There will also be a cultural presentation. In past years, we had a karate demonstration and Irish dancers. There is no charge for this event, but $1 donations or a canned food item will be collected at the door. To make this event a big success, we ask that families provide display items showing cultures from around the world. Please return the yellow flyer that your child home as quickly as possible. PTO will also be sponsoring Santa again this year. You may bring your camera and have your child’s picture taken with Santa.  Thank you.
